'Dream Battery Production' Solivis Nests in Hoengseong...Emotability Elasticity

Construction of the factory begins on the 24th…Targets to lead the all-solid-state battery market

Solivis Co., Ltd., which has world-class technology in the solid electrolyte field of all-solid-state batteries, will build a state-of-the-art mass production plant at Wucheon General Industrial Complex in Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do.

Hoengseong County announced on the 24th that Solivis Co., Ltd. will start construction of a plant to mass-produce sulfide-based solid electrolytes on the 7,444㎡ site in the Ucheon General Industrial Complex by December 2026. Through this, the company plans to hire 60 local talents.

Solivis Co., Ltd. is an all-solid-state battery solid electrolyte material development company with 90 related patents at home and abroad, headquartered in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and research institutes in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do.

All-solid-state batteries, known as "dream batteries," are drawing attention as materials to turn the tide in the electric vehicle battery sector. The company aims to achieve 120 billion won in sales within the next five years and leap to become a leader in the all-solid-state battery market.

The All Solid Battery refers to a battery in which all the materials constituting it are solid. Core technologies allow ions to move through solid electrolytes rather than liquids.

Existing lithium-ion batteries that use liquid electrolytes have the possibility of fire upon impact. Solid-state batteries are considered promising next-generation batteries because they do not explode even when impacted and are highly efficient at low temperatures.

"Once this investment is completed, the current production of electrolyte pilot facilities will increase 35 times," said Kim Myung-ki, head of the county. "We hope that the mobility industry in Hoengseong-gun will be more resilient by joining forces with Solivis."
